D-link Cat-6 UTP RJ45 Modules
A “Cat-6 UTP RJ45 module” (sometimes also called a keystone jack / modular jack) is a component used in structured cabling. It allows a twisted-pair Cat-6 cable (unshielded, UTP) to terminate into a fixed RJ45 interface (8P8C), typically for patch panels, wall plates, faceplates, or keystone panels.
Features
Standards & wiring: Supports Cat-6 performance per ANSI/TIA/EIA-568 standards.
Wire gauge: Suitable for 22–26 AWG (solid or stranded) wiring.
Punch-down compatibility: Compatible with both 110 and Krone style punch-down tools.
Contact plating: Usually gold plated (e.g. “50 µin gold plating”) to ensure good conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Design / mounting: Many are keystone style, so they snap into a faceplate or patch panel. Some modules come with a faceplate (i.e. built into a wall plate with one or more RJ45 ports).
Number of ports: Single port or multi-port (e.g. 2 port faceplates) options exist.
Labeling / wiring schemes: Modules often include universal labeling for T568A / T568B wiring schemes.
