Buy FIBRE PATCH CORD 5M from Hubtechshop, Nairobi Kenya

Fiber Type:

FIBRE PATCH CORD MM SC-SC 5M are designed to carry multiple light rays (modes) simultaneously. They are suitable for shorter-distance transmissions compared to single-mode fiber.

Connector Type:

“SC-SC” indicates that the cable has SC connectors on both ends. SC connectors use a push-pull mechanism and are common in many data communication applications.

Use Case:

Multimode fiber optic cables with SC connectors are often used for shorter-distance communications within buildings, data centers, and local area networks (LANs). They are suitable for scenarios where high bandwidth is needed over relatively shorter distances.

Applications:

Multimode fiber cables are commonly used for applications such as data and voice communication, video transmission, and networking within a confined geographical area.

Core Size:

Multimode fiber optic cables typically come in different core sizes, with 62.5 microns and 50 microns being common. The core size affects the amount of light that can be carried and the distance over which it can be transmitted.

Bandwidth:

Multimode fibers are capable of supporting multiple modes of light, but this can lead to modal dispersion. However, they offer higher bandwidth compared to single-mode fibers over shorter distances.

Installation:

Proper handling and installation are important for fiber optic cables. Multimode fiber cables are less sensitive to bends compared to single-mode fibers, but care should still be taken during installation to avoid signal degradation.
